Stephen Sunderland, Managing Director, L.E.K. Consulting
is standing for the position of At-Large
I have moved to China three times, to Shanghai on each occasion. We have all seen many changes in China over the last decade, and recognize the challenges. I remain professionally excited about the opportunities that China presents for UK business. I am also passionate in my support for the development of an effective civil society inside our adoptive home of 1.4bn people.
I am a Managing Director in a mid-sized, UK-founded strategy advisory firm, which is honoured to have received the Queen’s Award enterprise in international trade. As a strategy advisor I have enjoyed the privilege of solving challenges with some of the largest UK enterprises (and those of other nationalities too), UK departments of state, and major UK financial investors. When my two year old daughter grants me a reprieve from entertainment duties, I now spend most of my time working in China’s healthcare sector.
I believe firmly in servant leadership. If elected then I would seek to be a focal point particularly for the voices of smaller and mid-sized corporate members, to ensure that our historic Chamber continues to evolve taking their needs into account.
