The University of Manchester China Centre Supports British Business Awards

The 10th anniversary British Business Awards (BBA) Gala Dinner was hosted in Beijing on 15 November. The Awards recognises and promotes excellence in innovation, enterprise and endeavour in the British and Chinese business communities.

The University of Manchester China Centre was invited to present at the Gala Dinner as the most outstanding important partner regional ambassador Sino-UK relationship. 

43 finalists entered the final round of competition for nine categories of awards, out of which Belt and Road Initiative Award was sponsored by the University of Manchester China Centre.

Centre Director Ms. Sherry Fu were invited to present the award to the category winner Atkins – a leading British design, engineering and project management consultancies that has had a presence in mainland China market since 1998. 

“Over the past decade, China has been leading infrastructure and development initiatives over the Belt and Road regions to enhance connectivity and to create more integrated economies. The entrants of award tonight –  ACCA, Atkins, Laowai Here, Wood and Standard Chartered combined represent outstanding contributions in the area of development, infrastructure, investment and consultancy!", Sherry said. 

Celebrating 10th year anniversary is not only BBA, but also for The University of Manchester China Cente. Since establishment in 2008 and bringing in Manchester Global MBA, the Centre has been supporting over 1,300 students and MBA graduates and a growing number of returned alumni from home campus.  

Being the regional ambassador of the University of Manchester, China Centre is at the forefront of facilitating exchanges and development in culture, education, research and business, making contributions in different area yet within the same context of accelerating cooperation between China and the UK.  

Sustainable partnerships have been formed between the Centre and leading domestic and international corporates in talent development, and with top education institutions including Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shanghai Tong Ji University, and Ren Min University of China. 

Main programmes - Manchester Global MBAKelley-Manchester Global MBA and MSc International Healthcare Leadership are currently offered, with a growing portfolio of blended-learning options to come up in Educational Leadership, Project Management and more.
