On 14 April, Burberry hosted an event to celebrate the opening of ‘The Cape Reimagined’, a unique exhibition of its made-to-order couture capes.
Over 300 guests including Li Bingbing, Ethan Juan, Zhou Dongyu, Song Wei Long, Li Meng, Mason Lee, Zhang Xueying, Li Danni, You Tianyi, Zhao Qinghe, Han Huohuo, Li Hui, Wu Ling and Liu Xiao attended the private view event at the brand’s Kerry Centre flagship store in Shanghai.
Introduced as part of the Burberry February 2017 show finale earlier this year, each cape has been handmade using unique constructions and referencing elements from the Burberry archive. The capes, all individually named and designed in the brand’s London atelier, and are available for special order.
First displayed as part of “Henry Moore: Inspiration & Process” at Makers House in London in February, the exhibition has travelled to Seoul, Milan and New York and will also open in LA and Dubai, each with their unique selection of couture capes.
‘The Cape Reimagined’ exhibition is open to the public with free admission at the Burberry Kerry Centre flagship store (1515 Nanjing West Road) during 10am to 10pm from now on until 23 April.
