Education Focus Group Announces New Chairman: David Mansfield, YK Pao School

The British Chamber Shanghai is pleased to announce that, David Mansfield, Executive Headmaster at YK Pao School succeeded William Vanbergen, CEO at BE Education as the new Chairman of the Chamber's Education Focus Group.

The Chamber and the Education Focus Group would like to sincerely thank William for his contributions over the past years. 

David Mansfield is a respected Headmaster whose experience spans a wide range of schools and educational institutions in the UK and internationally.  He has successfully led four different schools, most recently the leading Chinese international school in Shanghai, YK Pao School. Before that he was headmaster of Dulwich College Beijing.
In the UK, David’s led two ‘outstanding’ secondary schools. He has been a Director of Cambridge Assessment, which owns Cambridge International Examinations, been a member of the Court of the University of Essex and participated in national steering groups and professional associations, building his understanding of education in its widest sense. He is Freeman of the City of London.
David completed his undergraduate degree in history at Cambridge University and his postgraduate studies in education at Oxford University and continued his studies with a MBA in International Education Leadership.  

The Chamber's Education Focus Group aims to provide members of the Chamber with pertinent information on issues affecting education in China and in the UK that might impact the smooth operation of their businesses in China. The group will also act as sounding board – through social media and Chamber-run events - for members for their concerns regarding educational development in China – primary, secondary, tertiary or vocational/professional development – and act as a representative body for British educational institutions within the Chamber through the appropriate channels in China or the UK, and help promote our institutions based in China throughout the country and internationally facilitating study in China for UK students, as appropriate.
