[Review] Importance & Benefits of Extracurricular Activities for Students and Education Mixer Night

On the evening of Thursday, 25 April, the British Chamber Shanghai’s Education Focus Group invited four experts to share with the audience their experience and discuss the importance and benefits of extracurricular activities for students.

Alex McGrath, Head of British Council Schools - China, shared his insights on the value of the broader curriculum in British EducationHarry Spencer, General Manager & Co-Founder at Star Coachingintroduced how Star Coaching provides football coaching programmes with a unique way of helping children aged 2-16+ develop through creating a love of the game. Garrison Lu 陆丰, Co-Founder & Chair at Raleigh China as well as National Director of The Duke of Edinburgh's International Award China, introduced the framework for non-formal education and shared insights on youth development through challenging yet rewarding community, environment, and adventure programmes. Charles Liang, Head of Training and Qualifications | Education & Skills at Department for International Trade shared the UK government's international education strategy.
