DID YOU KNOW: You can vote in UK elections from abroad

Published on 2019-11-20

You may be able to register as an overseas voter for up to 15 years after leaving the UK.

Once registered, you can vote in UK Parliamentand European Parliament elections. You may be able to vote in referendums too, however each referendum has different rules on who can vote in it.

You can choose to vote either by post or proxy (you can have someone you trust cast your vote for you.) You’ll be asked to make this choice when you register.
