Winners of the 2019 China Social Impact Awards Announced

On 7 November, the culmination of the 2019 China Social Impact Awards was celebrated at China World Hotel, Beijing, with over 230 distinguished guests in attendance.

Organsied by the British Chamber of Commerce in China, the China Social Impact Awards strives to recognise and promote the positive impact companies and organisations of all industries and sizes have had on society and the environment in China.

Over 250 foreign and domestic companies and organisations have entered into seven categories including: 

  • Employee Engagement; 
  • Equality in Education;
  • Universal Healthcare;
  • Community and Culture;
  • Empowerment of Women; 
  • Environmental Impact; and
  • Poverty Alleviation.

Screened by an independent panel of judges who have expertise on social impact, 46 finalists were shortlisted, and 7 SME and 7 MNC winners were selected through a two-stage process.

St. John Moore, Chairman of the British Chamber of Commerce in China kicked-off the evening by congratulating all entrants and finalists' stories and commitment towards creating social impact and social change, and highlights that "through recognising the achievements, together we can inspire and galvanise individuals andbusinesses to move to long-term sustainable practice. "

Patron of the 2019 China Social Impact Award, Nicholas Rosellini (UN Resident Coordinator in China), thanked the British Chamber of Commerce for the dedication to promoting peace and prosperity in the communities around us, and exclaimed, "No matter who eventually win the awards – everyone’s a winner tonight, of the battle against the wicked challenges faced by mankind and the game of joint creation of a better future for all."
