Important Updates for UK Visa Application and BFT Members

From Monday 16 April, 2012, all UK visa applications from China should be completed via the online application system on the UK Border Agency websit.

### UK Visa Online Application

From Monday 16 April, 2012, all UK visa applications from China should be completed via the online application system on the UK Border Agency website [www.visa4uk.fco.gov.uk](http://www.visa4uk.fco.gov.uk). As a transitional arrangement the Visa Application Centre (VAC) will continue to accept handwritten application forms for two weeks from 16 April. From 30 April, 2012, only online applications will be accepted.

Application Procedure:

1- Applying online
Once an applicant has completed the online application form, the form need to be printed and signed.

2- Making an appointment

As part of the online application, applicant is recommended to use the online appointment system to book an appointment to attend the VAC. Applicant can book, change or cancel the booking online.
3- Visiting the application Centre
To complete the application process, the applicant must visit the VAC in person and need to submit related documents.

### Updates for BFT Members
From Monday 16 April, 2012, the “Business Fast Track Scheme” will be replaced by the “Select Business Scheme”. Current members of Business Fast Track will automatically become members of the Select Business Scheme – no action is necessary.

Members of the Select Business Scheme can enjoy an express service for processing visa applications, but this will now be charged at RMB 520 per applicant in addition to the visa fee. This is an optional service and will be available at UK Visa Applications Centres in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Hangzhou and Nanjing.

The express service is currently only available for applications for Business Visit Visas and General Visit Visas.
