Jean Chen, Dean of the International Business School, Jiaotong-Liverpool University in Suzhou,
is standing for the position of At-Large
After completing my BSc degree in China, I won a Sino-British Scholarship to pursue my PhD in the UK in 1987. Since then I have worked in the education sector and in industry in the UK for almost 30 years during which I have held various senior positions prior to joining IBSS, such as the Vice-President and CEO of Surrey International Institute at the University of Surrey, UK. Those positions have provided me excellent opportunities to engage with business communities and government organisations both in China and the UK, and international organisations, through consultancy and educational collaboration.
I have also served as an Executive Director of the China Academy of Management since 2015 and awarded ‘Outstanding Overseas Scholar’ by the Ministry of Education of China.
If elected, I would like to contribute to the Chamber by (1) Extending the network of the Chamber; (2) Providing expertise in bridging Sino-British collaborations particularly in capitalizing the contractual agreements; (3) Enhancing the Chamber’s service by providing quality business training and development.
