The British Chamber Shanghai’s Education Focus Group is delighted to invite members and their guests to join us for a social evening sharing recent updates in the education sector.

Recently the State Council has made statements about the compulsory phase of schooling. Specifically on Admissions to Chinese International schools (especially the introduction of a lottery system) and the Curriculum that can be taught at them (limitations on use of international curricula). These statements are being applied by all provinces. What these changes mean and what the impact these changes will have on members’ schools will be discussed at the event.

Speakers:

  • Maxine Lu, General Principal, Shanghai Xiehe Education Group 上海协和教育集团总校长卢慧文女士
  • David Mansfield, Exective Headmaster at Y K Pao International School 上海包玉刚实验学校常务校长David Mansfield

As this is the first session of the Education Forum, it is also a chance to mix and meet colleagues, and raise agenda items that members would like to address over the year.

Members and guests will have the opportunity to network and meet like-minded people, to discuss the education environment in China, explore issues affecting the sector and innovative methods to combat such challenges.

This will also be an occasion where we welcome new teachers in respective organisations to the Chamber community.
