Welcome Summer - Gin Cocktail Tasting

This event is open to both male and female.

The Chamber's Women in Business and Hospitality, Leisure, Food & Beverage focus groups invite members and their guests to a relaxing summer evening and explore your love of gin. 

Join Spirits Box's Laura Thomason and The Odd Couple's Dawn Cianci, attendees will have the opportunity to learn about different types of award-winning Australian gin - The West Winds Gin, as well as to choose and design their own Gin & Tonic with a selection of garnishes.

At the event you will taste:

"The Sabre" 40% ABV
A strong undercurrent of citrus weaving through twelve spices and botanicals including juniper, lemon myrtle & wattle seed.

"The Cutlass" 50% ABV
Australia's most awarded gin.
Aromatic, with a unique Australian character. Combining traditional juniper alongside cinnamon myrtle & Australian Bush Tomato.

"The Broadside" Navy Strength 58% ABV
For an explosive Gin & Tonic.
Smooth & silky thanks to its unique botanicals of Margaret River Sea Salt and Sea Parsley. 

Running Order:

  • 6.30 – 7.00pm Registration and networking
  • 7.00 – 7.05pm Opening introduction
  • 7.05 – 7.30pm Gin cocktails introduction
  • 7.30 – 8.30pm Gin & Tonic tasting and networking

No-show Policy: Please note you must cancel your reservation in writing to the event contact staff 24 hours in advance. No-shows without prior notification will be charged a no-show fee of RMB100. 

Walk-in Policy: Please note that members who attend the event without prior reservation will be charged an extra walk-in fee of RMB50 if spaces are still available.

Laura Thomason

Laura Thomason has over 15 years' experience working in the hospitality industry. From cheffing to clubs, restaurants to cocktail bars, Laura made a name for herself in leading quality, energetic venues Touche Hombre and Nieuw Amsterdam in Melbourne, Australia. After years behind the bar telling anyone who would listen about the breadth of alcohol, she has now landed in Shanghai to help spread the good word of craft spirits.
