The Chamber's Legal Focus Group invites Legal/Compliance Heads, IT Heads, DPOs (Data Protection Officers), ISOs (Information Security Officers), CSOs (Chief Security Officers), and management teams from our member companies to join this morning session and learn the difference between the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and PRC Cybersecurity Law, as well as how to be in compliance with both in China. 

Leon C.G. Liu, partner of MWE China Law Offices, will explain the similarities and differences between GDPR and PRC laws/regulations, as well as brief on how to deal with governments’ inspections/investigations from legal and IT perspectives. By introducing the legal gap between the regions in China, Leon will shed light on the localisation of data protection projects in China. Following Leon's presentation, a panel of guest speakers will share some more cybersecurity cases.

Leon C.G. Liu is a partner of MWE China Law Offices and a co-head of the global corporate compliance practice group of McDermott Will & Emery. Leon focuses his practice on compliance investigations, data security and data privacy, export control and regulatory compliance. The clients he serves cover a variety of industries and he helps clients overcome complex regulatory challenges in the most efficient way possible, minimising disruption to their operations while reducing or even avoiding reputational and commercial damage.

Polly Tang

Asia IT Director, Stanley Black and Decker APAC

Polly Tang serves as Asia IT Director for Stanley Black and Decker APAC. Polly Tang joined Stanley Black and Decker in 2017 to manage  IT  in the region. In addition to providing strategic IT leadership to the business, she is also responsible for driving various IT program in digital, data analytics, business intelligence, ERP, CRM, etc.

Prior to joining Stanley Black and Decker, Polly worked for several international MNCs such as General Electrics and Honeywell, Caterpillar where she had extensive experience in IT management.

Ms. Polly obtains her master Degree from Shanghai Jiao Tong University and EMBA from Olin Business School of Washington University.

Zheng Jin

Senior Counsel, Legal Head in Asia, C.H. Robinson

Zheng Jin has more than 15 years' experience as a legal counsel. She joined C.H. Robinson as Senior Counsel and Legal Head in Asia in September 2018. Before joining the current company, Zheng Jin also worked for Rexel as APAC Head of Legal, for Premier Farnell as APAC Legal Counsel, and for Toyota Motor as Legal Affairs Director. Zheng Jin holds a LLB from Shanghai University law School and a LLM from University of Minnesota Law School, USA.
