The British Chamber Shanghai’s Education Focus Group is delighted to invite Chamber members in the education sector to join us for an evening of drinks & snacks and stimulating conversation.

At the event, Qi Qiu, General Counsel from BE Education will share with members recent regulation updates for private schools in China. 

Members will have the opportunity to network and meet like-minded people, to discuss the education environment in China, explore issues affecting the sector and innovative methods to combat such challenges.

This will also be an occasion where we welcome new teachers in respective organisations to the Chamber community.

About the Education Focus Group

To provide members of the Chamber with pertinent information on issues affecting education in China and in the UK that might impact the smooth operation of their businesses in China. The group will also act as sounding board – through social media and Chamber-run events - for members for their concerns regarding educational development in China – primary, secondary, tertiary or vocational/professional development – and act as a representative body for British educational institutions within the Chamber through the appropriate channels in China or the UK, and help promote our institutions based in China throughout the country and internationally facilitating study in China for UK students, as appropriate.

No-show Policy: Please note you must cancel your reservation in writing to the event contact staff 24 hours in advance. No-shows without prior notification will be charged a no-show fee of RMB100. 

Walk-in Policy: Please note that members who attend the event without prior reservation will be charged a walk-in fee of RMB50 if spaces are still available.

Speaker Introduction

Qi Qiu

General Counsel, BE Education

Practiced as a PRC lawyer in corporate and finance, provided services to clients including education companies, SOE, schools, food and beverage. Having been involved in more than thirty cases regarding M&A and joint venture both in China and overseas, Qi also assists and takes lead on business development on schools in Great China. She has been working with BE as General Counsel since 2015.
