Protecting Trade Secrets

We cannot prevent the divulgence of trade secrets for the daily use, however we can minimise the damage and maximise the cost of infringers in protecting trade secrets.  China needs and encourages foreign invested corporations to increase the quality and technology level of products made in China.  Protection of intellectual property is a vital part in this process.

When it comes to IP protection, most companies focus on trademark, patent and copyright, with less emphasise on trade secrets.  Common business trade secrets include customer list, technical procedure, operation guide, bid content, supplier information and management technique etc. These should be treated just as important.

In this discussion, led by John Yao, Senior Partner at Shanghai Minton Lawyers, you will gather practical knowledge in implementing necessary protection mechanisms for your everyday business trade secrets.
