Angela Lock

General Manager, Head of UK-China Hub for Offshore Wind

Angela's first overseas experience was as a student representative selected by the Shanghai Municipal Government to visit Osaka, Japan, in 1998 for the 20th anniversary of Osaka's sister-city relationship with Shanghai. She completed her Bachelor's Degree at Fudan University before heading to Loughborough University in 2004 to complete her MSc, then spent four years working in the UK gaining experience in events management, marketing, and training. Returning to Shanghai in 2008, Angela joined the British Chamber as business events manager, later becoming a member of the business development team. In 2012 Angela became the first female Chinese Deputy Executive Director in the history of the Chamber. In conjunction with the Executive Director, she restructured the Chamber operation and introduced new services to reflect the business challenges and opportunities in the current China market. In 2015, she designed and managed The Vow Project, supporting female leadership from second and third tiered cities in China and took them on to the international business stage. She also participated in the President Xi Jinping’s state visit to the UK in October, carrying out organisational and translation work. Angela also has a talent for karate, winning second prize in the Shanghai Karate Tournament in 2002.
